Re: More 3D Metal Puzzles
I have the notches scaled down to .060" material. If you want bigger material, then scale accordingly. For example...if you want to use .119" material, then you would have to divide .119 by .060 (.119/.060)=1.98. You then would want to scale image in all directions by 1.98. If you want to use .25 plywood, then you would scale by 4.16.
The reason I use 16 ga material, is that we have a lot of drops of that size, and its free!!!
Should I post some more puzzles?

Re: More 3D Metal Puzzles
I love these puzzles,,,,
my problem, is with my torches i have a minimum of 30 amp torch, high definition and the kerf width is around .060 if i remember correctly.
The dragon puzzle for instance has corner reliefs in each slot that are only .020" dia. the math does not work and my controller destroys the part when it tres to send them over for cutting.
how do i fix this?

Re: More 3D Metal Puzzles
My Waterjet has this same issue as the Kurf is around .040". The small radius' confuse the system and when it tries to cut it, the cut is all blown out at that location. I solved my problem by doing straight point corners....just let the jet create the radius if that makes sense.

Re: More 3D Metal Puzzles
So i need to load and edit the file then to remove all those coner reliefs? im not very cad efficient.
also with the slot sizes and my kerf width i figure i have to scale it up just over 4 times, I then can use 1/4 material and the slots will be 1/4 in width.

Re: More 3D Metal Puzzles
Thank you for your postings! I've made a bunch of the puzzles that you posted on this forum. I did add a hour glass figure to the spider to make it a black widow, which is now perfect for Halloween! I'm curious do you have a 3-d puzzle of a praying mantis?
Thanks again to you and to everyone else on this forum who have helpled me!
