Sheetcam thc on/off

I've just now start to use my thc and need to know how to cut it off when I'm cutting small holes any help would be great.

What post processor are you using?

You wont need it in corners. There is a feature called ANTI-DIVE which stops THC from controlling the Z axis when the feedrate drops below a certain point. 60% is where it is set at in stock form.

Sorry, i should have been more precise,
i was referring to the cutting rules in sheetcam, where you can turn off thc, slow down
for corners or small radius, then thc back on.
If im right, when you turn on/off thc while moving, there is a slight pause in movement.
Like i said, i havent tried it with corners yet, just holes.

Having problems. Maybe you know what i'm doing wrong.

Set code snippit to M102 THC on
M101THC off

Set rule as holes, 1.5 dia slow to 60%, set code thc off, end code thc on.

I have a plate with 8 holes and outside square. When I run g code, goes to first hole, runs and shuts thc off, end of cut turns thc on. next hole thc doesn't shut off driving head into plate. I was watching it closely so was ready to stop it before any damage.

Any idea what I am doing wrong. Going to watch videos online again.

He said the code looked good. He questioned whether the I was using the right code snip.

He also asked if Mach was set up to use those codes? Don't know. Anyone have a way to see if the code is in Mach?

[I Lean]

The M101/102 macros weren't in my Mach3 by default, I had to install them separately. (which means copy/paste the files into the right folder) Once I did that, it all magically worked.

I don't try to turn the THC off during a cut, or for corners or anything--I just set all my holes up on their own layer, make a separate operation for them, and use the M codes to turn the THC off before cutting them, and back on after.

So my order of operations looks something like:

Insert code M101
Inside offset, holes layer, with my "slow hole" tool (50%-60% normal feedrate for that material)
Insert code M102
Outside offset, regular tool, for the rest of the part.

Works great for me!

Did you have to add or change something to use s10/s20 codes?
are you using mp3000-dthc post?
