Nice file! Thanks for sharing. If I were actually building this one, I would size the slot widths to be at least 0.010" - 0.020" wider than the actual material thickness. I would also recommend cutting a sample slot to make sure you have an acceptable fit before cutting the entire fire pit.

Yep,
If I were to burn one, I would shrink the whole thing down some. This beast is almost 3' long! and since its collapsible it is meant to be portable. This may be a two person pit to put together for some. It would likely be a bugger to put together and take apart. But doesn't have to be collapsible if someone wanted one that big. They may want to just weld it together after it is squared up.
I usually cut my logs 18-24" long +,- (eyaballed). Once I shrink this thing down to a practical size (practical to me), maybe 20"-ish, the existing slots would shrink down as well. And would need to be blown out again.
So David's advise is sound, and a good starting point based on gauge, as well as Kerf settings which affects the slot opening too.
a little slop may be better than too tight. Especially when it is time to take it apart and bag it. the less soot on the hands and everywhere else he better

For portable and occasional use, I would also consider cutting this (or a smaller version) from 11 ga or 3/16. Lighter may be better for a portable unit.

:Like Thanks for sharing this! I've been wanting to do a fire pit for awhile now, just always have other things to do. Hopefully I can slim this down a little and cut it soon.
