Cool Bear Scene to share!
Hello Everyone,
Here is a really cool bear scene that I designed up recently. The design work should be cut around 24" wide. If anyone has a chance to cut this out please remember to post an image of the finished design work so we can all see how wonderful it turns out. I hope you all enjoy the design work.
\ Sincerely,

Thanks Jason! That looks great. I moved, so it will be another month before I can cut anything. When I get going again I will cut this and post a pic.

Nice file thanks. however there was some cutouts that did not burn complete
the start of cut and stop of cut did not meet back up. but in cad it all looks good
when i load the dxf in the machine it shows the lines not meeting back up on some
cuts leaving the cut out tabed in but i like the file and here is the pic i cut

Re: Cool Bear Scene to share!
Thanks very much for sharing the cut image with the group. The problem that you are describing sounds like there is a setting within the CNC controlling software that is putting a gap at the end of the cut loop/path. The DXF files should be fully connected. Often times the settings for these CNC software programs can be adjusted to keep the pieces of the design work from dropping out and potentially contacting the gantry or cutting heads. I would suggest investigating the software controlling the CNC and see if one of those settings is set to automatically keep the design work tabbed in. Hope this helps!
Sincerely,

Hi,
I had a little problem with the file cutting also. I will send a picture tomorrow. I cut it twice. I think the file needs to be scaled up a little. I moved a couple of lines farther apart and got some better results the second time around.
Please Jason, don't take what I say as bad. I really like your work, and have used a lot of it to create some fantastic pieces and also to learn how this stuff works. You are an artist and I admire your talent.

Re: Cool Bear Scene to share!
Thanks for the feedback on the design work. This bear scene was originally designed and optimized for a CNC laser cutting system. I believe this may have been a contributing factor in the problem you experienced with the size of the overall design work being too small to accomodate the detail work. I would be interested to know what the size of your cut width was and where the trouble spots were located at within the design. Thanks again!

Truly great work Jason. I made my cut using a Plasma Cam Samson Table with a Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 52. I didn't have to tweak or resize your file at all. It was ready to cut at approx 18" x 24" on the Plasma Cam software. Here's a pic of the finished project. Thanks for the file and keep up the good work.

Thanks for sharing the cut design work. Every cut system is unique and the results will vary with each one. Glad the files worked well for you. It appears you put some sort of finish on cut design work. Can you share what type of finish that is? JH

Believe it or not Jason, that finish came out of a can. It's the Rustoleum 2 in 1 Metallic Paint/Primer. It's around $8.00 a can and leaves a pretty smooth looking finish. This was the first piece I painted with it and I was quite suprised with how it came out.

Thanks for sharing the finish that was used. Rustoleum definently makes some nice products that leave great finishes. JH

Re: Cool Bear Scene to share!
When I first got my machine the previous owner had it set up to leave tabs, like Jason said it was a software setting that needed to be changed. Another problem that I had is the DXF to G-code converter will leave small unjoined segments that cause similar issues, also can be minimized with adjusting the settings but this issue will nearly drive you to drinking. I would like to upgrade this software in the future.
