Re: Geo Fire pit
Seems like it would be very important to get the angles correct when welding this together? Any tips on doing that? Or has anyone made a little jig to assist in the process of assembly?

Re: Geo Fire pit
No jig necessary. Just line up the pieces like you are putting a puzzle together.johnp wrote:Seems like it would be very important to get the angles correct when welding this together? Any tips on doing that? Or has anyone made a little jig to assist in the process of assembly?

Re: Geo Fire pit
I am super new to all this bending and angles. How are y'all bending the 1/4 on these. Even the lighter metal? I'm going to cut my first one out of 14g just to make sure all it good with my designs in it. Then just use it as a table. Put a top on it Every panel is a different design, that way I can figure out how I want my pattern to run.
Thanks in Advance.

This is what I came up with in 2015 when the soccer ball scandal began.

All pieces are cut separately then welded together. I also put a 6" LP fire pit burner in the bottom.

Re: Geo Fire pit
Sorry, wrong post....
Sorry to bring up an old thread, but, Is the file in post 1 for half of the unit?
If so, when making 2 of them, will they fit together when they are cut to make a ball?
Thanks for any input.

I am not an attorney but anyone worried about copyright issues needs to actually read the Copyright information. Its very informative, You cant copyright a shape of common or familiar symbols.(Fleur De Lys. star ying yang heart a diamong etc) This guy Louis' registration is a joke. It cant cover anything broad. Actually if anyone ever built one before him in the past(which has been done, the shape that is) he(Louis) could be in jeopardy of stealing their intellectual property. But it is a common shape that has been around forever and would not fall under an Architectural design. You can copyright all 2d patterns. The only thing he can copyright is specific artwork inserted if it is his intellectual property not the process.
