Re: Wall art gauge
I've been using 14ga P&O. Many customers have commented on the "heft" of their parts, which I feel they equate to quality. That said, I'm going to try some 16 and 18 ga for parts that I want to feel light or airy (such as the tattered flag stuff).

Re: Wall art gauge
There's a balance that has to be considered between cut quality and usability. 16Ga seems to be the sweet spot. Not everyone wants to use a bunch of hanging hardware on their walls and the 14ga pieces are not IMO significantly better at showing detail or resisting heat warp. If you go thinner than 16ga, then having too much detail or narrow slivers of metal, warpage, and ease of cutting becomes an issue.
I prefer 16ga

Re: Wall art gauge
I as well almost always use 16G for art stuff. I use other 'close' gauges just to use up left over material. The thinner material warps easy and imo is more of a pain to work with. Thicker material like mentioned doesn't seem to show smaller detail as well as 16g but is nice for things that need some heft to them.
