Gluing

I need to glue some powder coated letters onto a powder coated background. Is there a glue that works good and is there any special techniques?

I would probably use a few spots of JB Weld

I use some Loctite adhesive I got at Lowe's. Have done alot of 14 gauge 2 piece signs this way and haven't had a complaint yet.

I ended up using Sika Flex 252. I used it @ a previous job and the stuff is pretty much bullet proof. We used it to glue stainless steel panels to motor homes. Its not the cheapest, but it works good.

I too use Sikflex 252 for virtually all my bonding. Once opened I put it in a zip lock bag and keep it in the refrigerator to stop it going off. When doing powder coat to powder coat I used to use their primer also but the rep told me to save some dollars and just use Acylic thinners so that's what I do now. I also used the same sikaflex for adhering my racks to my Table.

I had a guy tell me to try JB Weld so I bought some and used it on a bare metal to bare metal adhesion, was too rigid and didn't hold so I sanded it off and used Sikaflex, still there.

Muzza, what does the acrylic primer do? Soften the powder so it bonds better??

Not primer Lou but thinners or reducer, you use it to wipe over the surfaces to be bonded (instead of using their expensive primer). It seems to knock the shine off it and does soften it slightly as in you can mark the surface with your finger nail but its no so soft that it digs in.
