P-80 Table, let's make one

Post by PlasmaDon »

I have never found a settings chart for the P-80 torch.
so I have been experimenting, here is a few settings i have found that work pretty good, please add yours too.

Hypertherm max100
1/2" plate, 100 amps 145 volts 15 ipm .080 kerf
1/2" plate, 100 amps 150 volts 10 ipm (hole not as good, outside same as 15 ipm)

I have to find my other samples at the shop, will add them.

The best cut charts for the P80 torch would be from a Hypertherm Powermax1250 (which is an 80 amp unit). The 1250 was replaced by the Powermax85 about 15 years ago. The P80 torch is a rough copy of the torch that was used on the Powermax1250, and these are "plunger style blowback torches (invented and patented at Hypertherm!, patents expired a couple of years ago). You can download the 1250 manual with all of its cut charts at www.hypertherm.com. Even better......if you can find a used Powermax1250 you can get the newest Replacement torch from Hypertherm and use it on the 1250......it will cut very much like the newer Powermax85/65 with the Duramax torch.

Jim,
Thank you for the reply, but the p-80 is a HF start torch.
Still use the charts from the powermax 1250 ?
