Hello everyone my name is Isaac pretty new to plasma CNC .Just graduated, Mechanical engineering and decided to design my own CNC plasma cutting machine. Got all the parts ready for the table and ill be starting assembly very soon. The only bit remaining is the cutter itself which im hoping before the year ends ill have had the funds to get one

Mine is a pretty basic setup for starters....belt driven(15mm with steel core) custom made roller brackets that use bearings to move, running on a 2x2 square tube that is used as the gantry, and also for the frame...Im using open source THC from HALE designs (yet to test it out) .....my setup will be running on GBRL and UGCS....im using dual nema 23 stepper motors to carry the gantry and from my estimations I hope they will be sufficient.....im working on a limited budget so...

welcome, your setup sounds very similar to what I started with, I am sure it will serve you well.

Welcome aboard Isaac, many DIY builder here so you will fit right in. If you have questions there are members that will help to get answers. You can use the search function in the upper right for a look around. Just so you know the THC setup you are looking at is what is called a "stand alone" type and it will require a separate drive assembly for the THC itself. Not a problem just a few more parts.
