Nice looking piece. One question though? How does it go together and how do I set it for cutting?

Re: Wine/Candle Holder dxf file
Thanks!
Bend each main segment of the cage (largest leafy piece) to precisely to 45deg. This will form the main body, minus the door section. I then took the octagonal pieces, one to form the top of the cage and the other makes up the bottom...attached by very light welds that when properly done sand to finish. When the main body of the cage is complete one will need to fabricate hinges and a way to fasten the door. This is where my buddy TWIZTED181 came in with his genius and used .250 rod that fit nicely into tubing of a slightly larger size...see if I can zoom in and get some detailed pics for you. Takes a little fab work here and can be done in a number of ways. This is just what we did.
Concerning the cut. Not entirely sure what you are asking. The base and stand are cut from .250 plate, 16ga for cage and a little chain to hang. Not familiar with your software but when I cut all paths on the interior are female while outside path is male.
Have a great day guys!

I have been toying with the idea to make one of these and use it for a house light with the hanger portion attached to a wall so the light hangs at a 90 degree. Just need to work it into the schedule .

Re: Wine/Candle Holder dxf file
Thank you, I am new at this, I was trying to figure out exactly what you explained. I will take it into inscape and make two different drawings so I can have two different metal pieces.
Thanks unless you have an easier way. I have a 4x4 table will this dxf cut it on that table? because Im not sure how to move it around in sheetcam?

Re: Wine/Candle Holder dxf file
No problem with being new, sure we can get you on the right path. First of all, there is an easier way. I pulled these into cad and put into two groups. First group is the cage, three leafy pieces and two octagonal pieces. These will be thinner material such as 16ga. Total space used 37.5"x17.5". Second group consists of three pieces. (17"x20" area) Base, stand and small leaf for hanging. We used 1/4" plate for these. So they must be cut separately anyway. If it were possible for me to explain how to do what you wish with inkscape I would gladly do so. Fortunately there is a forum on this board just for that and bright people willing to assist. If you wish I'll be glad to separate this into 2 files for you for now until you get more proficient with your software. P.M. me here, use the link at the bottom of this post to leave a message on my page or give me your email and I'll send it right to you.

Re: Wine/Candle Holder dxf file
If I may here is how I did the separation, when in Inkscape you can pull a box around items with the arrow tool to highlight them. Then under edit do a copy, then open a new Inkscape page and paste it there. You can open many pages of Inkscape to copy and paste things to work on them separately.
After you have things as you want them just save with DXF or SVG and name it, then I like to include the dimensions as a reference later.
Sometimes you may need to combine what is in the box before copying to be sure you get it all.
