if you have win 7 or higher you have a snip tool that makes a window and converts it to .jpg automatically

I've got a program called Screenshot Captor. I used to use the basic Windows screen capture method but it's pretty basic.

It's free but everytime you start it up it take you to their website which can get a bit irritating. If you make a donation it doesn't do this anymore.

I was so impressed with its functionality and features I donated $20, and have it on all 3 computers I use. I've used it heaps and have no regrets about my donation.

Snagit... Love using Snagit, just click 'print screen' and you can immediately select what you want to screen shot.

I used Snagit when I was working but it is not free. The above mentioned Screenshot is very similar and is free if you are patient.

Windows 7 has a snipping tool now.....works great
pretty much same as print screen except opens picture up in program right away and easy to save.
