fire pit

Post by baker »

Here is a fire pit that I made recently. I was very happy with the cut quality on this 3/16" steel, and how it turned out overall. Every piece was plasma cut. I use a Dynatorch table with a Hypertherm 1650.

Great idea for a fire pit. How many total pieces is it? Is the main ring one piece? I don't see the seam....

I believe it was 17 total pieces. Yes the main ring was one piece, the seam was welded and cleaned up to blend with the bends.

Great fire pit!

I think I will make one like this to put out in the yard.

I love to BBQ over hardwood rather than charcoal, this would be great.

Did you come up with this design?

Very unique with the legs and side pieces.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I made this specifically for and donated it to a hunting and outdoor event in my hometown that raises money for youth programs in the area. It was in the silent auction.

I did come up with the design and did all of the scenes also. Each panel is around 12x15, and the circle that the bucks scenes are in were about 10" diameter.

It also had a removable pole with a swing-over grill and pot-holder, but of course I procrastinated and sent those parts last minute so I never got a picture with it all together!

Just looking at your design it's very nice well done but wouldn't it be a good idea to put some expanede metal in the bottom so the ash would drop out and let air in so it would burn better, I guess it would burn OK more for the ease of cleaning too, just a thought. Ouch that hurt....

Considering that baker was "Last active:Fri Aug 18, 2017 11:27 am"...you'll likely have it drawn on your own before a reply is received.
