Re: Fire Pit/Cooking Goodies Sharing Thread
I hated how much material i lost cutting out this awesome Firepit. So i made a few changes to the parts dimensions and made a foot that is to be cut out of scrap. nests pretty tight now.

Re: Fire Pit/Cooking Goodies Sharing Thread
very nice designs on the fire pits. I decided to try and make one. I scaled the drawing( The guitar one) up to corrected size but the bottom doesn't seem to match up. Does any one know what might have gone wrong

Re: Fire Pit/Cooking Goodies Sharing Thread
Please shoot me if I ever build another fire pit to sell . I have geodesic domes , hexagons and , almost every cool one on this site for sale in a retail store that has one hell of customer traffic . They have wildlife and celestial , and garden themes .They are in an Ace Hardware store displayed at the front door .There are extremely wealthy people here with summer lake homes , a tourist town . This is the only store within miles to get any thing so everyone goes there . They are priced fairly and the owner of the store is a friend and hes not making a lot either .
Fire pits don't sell ......... not here anyway .

Re: Fire Pit/Cooking Goodies Sharing Thread
You don't necessarily have to have a brake if you cut the proper bend lines in the material. You could easily build this pit without a brake.

Re: Fire Pit/Cooking Goodies Sharing Thread
Anyone have a design that doesn't require a brake? I need to be able to weld the whole thing together as the brake we have isn't heavy duty enough for these Looking to make one for a Valentines gift. Also what gauge are you guys cutting out of?

Re: Fire Pit/Cooking Goodies Sharing Thread
Look through the geodesic fire pit thread, there are lots of weld ups there. Or, separate the parts at the bend line and weld em up.

Re: Fire Pit/Cooking Goodies Sharing Thread
I build mine out of 1/8 and I bend them on a vise. I probably made at least 20 that way. i got the Swag brake about 2 months ago and it is neat to use but not necessary with 1/8 inch. Now I am talking about the pits that I posted of course.redduke wrote:Anyone have a design that doesn't require a brake? Re: Fire Pit/Cooking Goodies Sharing Thread
Not really a firepit. I call them griddles some people call them a comal. This was one of my first ones. I have changed the design up a bit now and make the whole thing wider and put logos on both sides. Great seller and easy to make. It seems popular here to put people's last name on them.

IF YOU CUT RELEIF SLOTS ALONG THE BEND LINES IT MAKES IT SOO MUCHEASIER TO BEND 3/16s LIKE IN THE ATRTACHED FILE
