TEXT TO PATH STRUGGLES

Post by busyman »

I have an drawing almost done for a customer and am trying to finish with by forming my text to my oval outside ring. I've watched about 4 videos and struggled through the help menus and I'm not having any luck. Is it because the oval is already complete and that path goes all the way around, so my text doesn't know where to start and stop? If so, anyone know how to fix this? I'd be glad to forward my svg file if someone can help me.
thanks!

It might be to late for this, but.....
It should be just a matter of clicking on the oval, then Shift/ click onto the text, and then "union".

If you have already created "object to path" for the text, you may want to try to "break apart" the text. Then perform the "difference" for the text that have "insides". Then perform the "union" for each letter, by clicking on the oval, then shift /click onto each letter individually. Click "union", then go to the next letter.

I hope I understood the problem, and I hope this helps.....
