Score!

Post by bigcreek »

One of my metal suppliers called me up yesterday saying he had six 4 x 10 sheets of colled rolled 16 gauge and he wanted them gone. Wondered if I was interested. Not really I said unless the price was right as I dont use alot of 16 gauge. He asked if I would take them for $50 to which I said no. I thought he was talking about per sheet. Then he says ah heck Ill give them to you for $35 then I almost said deal when he piped back up and said shoot Ill even go $25 on them. I said Ill take all 6 for $25 still thinking he was talking about $25 per sheet. I picked them up today and he charged me $25 for all 6 sheets! I was like what the heck?! Thats $4.16 per sheet! I know there has been better deals had out there but that is by far the best I have gotten to date. The sheets are even straight and shiny. No warpage, scratches, they look good. I just had to share my piece of good fortune. ;)

That's awesome!
I'll give you $35 for all of them.
You can also deliver them to me for free right?

That is great, cold rolled is much more expensive than hot rolled, I would have bought all 6 for $50 even if they were hot rolled.

Dennis you have a deal! Whatever. Just got me another good buy today from the bargain cave but I think it is the last of the deals. I picked up 28 sheets of .080 aluminum for $39 a sheet. Now back to paying full price.

I've been getting 2' x3' pieces of 3/16" plate for $1.50 ea.I'm on my second 4000 lb.batch.Guess why most of my projects are made of 3/16" material. They are manhole cut outs from 400 barrel oil field tanks
