calibration of my table

Post by SpartanKen »

When I load a file into mach3(candcnc). It is making monster moves. Moving 2.5 inches when dro says it only moved .2

I configured this to be in English. It doesn't matter if I load the road runner file or my own. on a 4x8 sheet it will take off to the center of the table to start the first cut, while the read out says it has only moved a fraction of this.

it has to be something simple, but I am pulling my hair out.

Have you set your steps per or are you using the default? What gear, what reduction and what rack are you using? Also what specs on your Z axis?

I had this issue initially too, but turned out the my PM45 has a bad circuit board behind the adjustment knob. I need to get it repaired soon. For now I just use a small toothpick like sliver of wood behind the knob. Works great. ;)

If you have a cnc router parts belt drive for the nema 23's and a gecko 540, I can offer a copy of my XML.
