You dont have to use them. You can create your own if you want. I dont usually use the Layer 1 cut paths. I make my own so i know that i got what i wanted.

I would take this dxf and import the file to Corel Draw and then remove all of the cut paths. I then would use the dxf tool to get the file out to sheetcam. From here I can then choose the type of cuts that I need - such as inside, outside and no offset.

Just opened your file in Draftsight. I'm sure Draftsight will have a way to crop the leadin lines, then join the ends of the line on the cut path, but I don't really use it and don't know how.

Draftsight has its own user forum and I'm not sure if there's also a Draftsight section on Cnczone. The guys there can probably help you out.

ok i opened your file in autocad, and draftsight. if you click the lead in line, and hit delete you will remove them. but none of your cuts are closed lines (meaning no circles will cut and fall out) you need to delete the lead in, then connect the two ends of each line to makes them complete. otherwise the leadin is useless anyway.
i am no critic, but i think that files needs a lot of work to fix all the lines. there are jogs everywhere. overlapping lines, etc. i dont think i would try to cut it without a lot of cleaning

i cleaned it up a bit the way i thought it should be in draftsight i would give it a whirl trying to cut i think it would be ok. i removed the small lines on the forks, took out all the overlapping lines and reshaped a few of them too. not sure if you wanted this file but whatever hope it helps

Thanks gary. should I not worry about the kerf that someone has already applied when they generated the cut path?

I'm not sure on the kerf. I'm no expert by any means just trying to help. kerf changes with metal thickness and amperage used. i would use my own settings formy machine andmy plasma cut specs.

If that line represents the actual cut line and not the part line then just use zero kerf width. Your kerf width may be slightly different but surely we are talking max of a mm here, so will that make any difference.
