driveway gate
I made this with artwork done by jason at cascade. i had to modify it a bit to fit my needs, but it was easy to do and it turned out great. the gate is 20 feet wide and 6 feet tall at the low end. hope you like it.

Re: driveway gate
When I was 17 I used to build gates and what we called "burglar guards" in Dallas, TX. I did some work for very rich people, for fur stores at the world trade center, houses around White Rock lake.. etc. Everything was by hand back then (40 years ago). When I go to Dallas I still see some of the work I did still looks good. I said that to say this.....You did a great job on that gate, I know from experience the amount of thought and work you went to.
Good Job!!!

Re: driveway gate
Nice gate.
I do have a question though.....
How do you get the arch at the top of the gate?
The one in the photo is a double and I am sure it was cut in the center after being bent.
I have been wanting to build an arch top gate and was wondering how to bend the arch.
I have a large ring roller, shop outfitters large model but I have never tried to bend any square tubing in it.
If anyone has a good way to do this, that would be great.
Thanks.

Re: driveway gate
peep - i made this to sell on craigslist - have it posted for $3500
lloyd - thanks- i made a jig on the plasma table to build the gate and for other fencing using 1 1/4" square tubing
elk - i use a ring roller as well to bend the arches. i do them as one piece and cut in half. it is easy to replicate the same bend when you get comfortable with your machine. counting the amount of turns on the pressure wheel is the key.

Re: driveway gate
Matt, You may want to try to sell that gate on Upillar.com
I didn't know if you had heard of it or not.
Just a thought.

Re: driveway gate
We roll a lot of arches for gates and building trusses. We have a baleigh ring roller. We also use it for making round hay bale rings. I draw a circle or radius in auto cad and get my measurements and then roll to specs.
