help with error!!!

I have a DHC2 that was working fine last weekend,I came back this week and installed new consumables and a start cartridge in the torch for my TD cutmaster and the plasmacam program won't even initialize it keeps giving me the error message "cannot initilize one or more of the following motors are shorted: Z" .Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you called plasmacam?

Unhook the wire going to the zaxis motor and try it again. It should int. Make sure everything on the zaxis is clean and moves freely, it may be in a bind. I've had this problem several times, had to replace the z motor twice.

Thank you rock mafia for responding, I have not called plasmacam yet. I have unhooked the plug at the z axis motor still throws the same code and will not initialize . i am going to change the cable from the computer just in case that may be the problem.

Mike, did you try the "Troubleshooting" section of the video manual? It has several tests to help identify the problem. Do you have DE or 3.11?
