OLD HOTEL SCENE
I scaned in this photo and then turned it into a "monochrome bitmap" and then tried to import it into plasma cam, Never worked. I'm sure there is an easier way? Can anyone offer any help?
Thanks.

Re: HOW CAN I CONVERT A PHOTO TO CUT OUT
Not sure if it would work but have you tried photoshop or illustrator? In illustrator you could do "live trace" and save it as...
I've never tried this with a picture and I don't have plasma cam but seeing that you pic was viewed 107 times and no one responded I figure I'd at least say something.....lol
Good luck.Chris

Re: OLD HOTEL SCENE
Great job Gary. Question, how long does it take you to make that up?

Re: OLD HOTEL SCENE
I just got an email from a lady in Canada's far north looking for a metal cut out of a log cabin. After trying to convert a couple of images she sent me, I headed to this site.
THANKS SO MUCH for your post !!

Re: OLD HOTEL SCENE
I redraw with photoshop and a tablet, then R2V with autotrace, finalize with corel, export dxf with v-carve pro
I never R2V ordinary images without totally redrawing everything first, then R2V works great
but then my elbow has a triple blackbelt in cad and pen drafting and technical art, that helps a lot...

Re: OLD HOTEL SCENE
Thanks Gary, My wife just asked me to cut out something like this a week ago. She works as a Cook in the Sierra's and they just rebuilt her Kitchen so she wanted to add a little something to the entrance. Score......
