SheetCAM issue!

Post by evoandyvii »

My SheetCAM program is on the fritz. It currently has decided that it does not like circles. I walked into work today to find that the sheetCAM program will not show any circles from a TurboCAD .dxf file. I don't know why or really understand how to fix the solution.

things I've done:
restart the computer.
reinstall TurboCAD
reinstall SheetCAM
created new files
reopened old files

The only thing so far that seems to be okay are job files that have been previously saved and .dxf files from a different program. I've come to the end of the rope on ideas as to how to fix it. If anyone uses sheetCAM and has had this problem or knows of the issue. Please let me know; this issue is causing a serious problems. ANYTHING helps, thanks people of the plasmaspider forum your input is much appreciated.

if nothing else, post a simple dxf with that problem, I don't know sheetcam so well, but I can check the dxf for peculiarities

This is just something random. The circles in the image don't show up in SheetCAM. =(

Try this. I saved as Autocad 2000 dxf. It worked for me.

the 1st one (aa1t.DXF) has a spline fit polyline

the 2nd one (resend.dxf) has a normal polyline

the 2nd one should work universally

the 1st does work in corel draw and autocad and plenty other cad/drawing programs

my question would be, does it work in ANY cnc cutting software around here?

I tried the original in Sheetcam and it worked. It had a few open segments, but he holes showed up.

ok, 2 nays and one yay on sheetcam, now we need to know the version number being used, if they're the same it might be a settings issue in sheetcam, which might explain why OP started having problems with files that worked before....
