Newbie needing advice - Viscon 8000

I just purchased a new Vicon 8000 5x10 system for my duct shop. I bought this unit to build ductwork. After going through training on the table I realized this thing can do waay more than ductwork. I am thinking of setting up a hobby business cutting small signs and what nots. I also have some friends in machine shops who might need parts cut from time to time. The machine came with software that will import and modify dxf files. I have found a ton ofcool dxfs on this site. I have looked at drawing software. Does the Corel software create dxf files? Is a good choice? I have a hypertherm 45 torch. My trainer advised me that it could do a really nice job up to 1/4. What guage steel do most people cut yard signs and wall hangings?

My go-to steel is 14ga cold rolled.
It has a bit more heft than my nearest 'industrial' competition.
Customers like that for indoor wall art and especialy for outside stuff.

Most of designs are files either purchased or found here.
The PlasmaCam machine has its own software that does a decent job altering these files and adding text.

Corel does do DXF files, as other drawing packages, and I'm fond of 16 gauge myself for wall hangings and other smaller stuff. Just a preference.
