Resizing a full DXF file

Post by AMF »

Have a DXF file but all measurements need to be enlarged by 25x the size. I have manually computed each dimension and increased it by 25x manually, but its getting so much overlap, based on the larger pieces and smaller pieces becoming lost under the larger pieces, etc. How can i enlarge the whole file at once, instead of each individual piece one by one.

As always thank you

Post the file here. 25x? It sounds like it was drawn in METRIC (millimeters) and you need it drawn in IMPERIAL (inches.) 25.4mm = 1 inch

You must GROUP a drawing if you are going to scale the entire thing.

Interesting. In Qcad I just highlight the whole part, click modify, scale, and go to whatever scale factor I want, then click to save original or delete it, and it's done. Cool to see other programs that people use. Emachineshop is probably a very versatile and professional level program.

EMachineShop is a pretty basic program and is mainly offered for free so that potential customers can design their parts and send the files to EMachineShop (the company) for making the parts for the customer.

I have used both programs and I would say QCad is a more "full featured" cad program. Both programs are fun to use.
