E04 PTM TORCH/Everlast 102i
Torch cuts as it should, periodically it stops the arc and air flow and throws a E04 code.
You remove this code- I can slightly loosen the cup (just less than tight) E04 code is removed
Cut more- E04 code throws again.
Can tighten or loosen the cup a little (maybe 16th of a turn) code is removed- can continue to cut
Why can I, just barely adjust the cup and the code removes itself??
All suggestions welcome

There are 2 spring loaded pins in the torch under the consumables retaining cap. When the cap is screwed on the pins contact a metal ring on the cap and close a circuit to tell the machine the parts are in place and it can cut. Sounds like your pins and/or the ring they contact are dirty or corroded and work for while and then you need to move the cap to get a good connection again. Give it all a good cleaning and post back with your results.

FYI, if you switch to the PlasmaDyn Hypertherm conversion torch for the Everlast, that is the way to go! Running an Everlast 80i and it works very well, and using genuine Hypertherm consumables

Re: E04 PTM TORCH/Everlast 102i
I did my own conversion, I used an old Powermax Machine torch I had laying around, and swapped the Hypertherm torch onto the lead that came with my Everlast 82i
If you call PlasmaDyn, he offers them with the Genuine Hypertherm torch body or a aftermarket
