If your getting air when you trigger the torch then no lead change is required, your machine is getting the trigger signal. I suspect your start cartridge is is sticking and the air is bot lifting the plunger and allowing the arc to fire. I would remove the cap, nozzle, start cartridge, and electrode and on the cartridge is a spring loaded plunger. The beveled esge of that plunger fits snug inside the nozzle, this beveled edge can get pitted and if tou use a scotchbrite to smooth out that beveled edge on the plunger it will prevent if from sticking to the nozzle when the air tries to lift it up. Also clean the nozzle well where the plunger contacts it or use a new nozzle. Let us know how it works out.
