What version of Corel Draw
I want to use Corel Draw but I don't want to spend more than I need to. There seems to be a Corel Draw for all needs. I just want something to use with plasma. Corel Draw 2024 is expensive, next is Corel Draw Essentials, Corel Draw Standard 2024 and Coreldraw Graphis Suite education. Also, isn't there a version that I can just use and not have to rent?

Re: What version of Corel Draw
I am running Ver 16 Graphics Suite and it does everything I want on my Win 7 Pro / 64bit machine, 2024 Graphics Suite offers a one time purchase for $400+. The 2024 Graphics Suite is needed for the DXF / DWG formats according to their chart of options.
You did not list what OS you have on your computer, be sure to make sure the ver. you choose is compatible with your system, Win 10 / 11 offer a compatibility mode for some older software (I have not used it yet). You can probably get old programs to work on a new machine, but not new programs on an old machine.
I would check garage sales, flee markets and ebay, look for everything from X5 Graphics Suite and up..

Re: What version of Corel Draw
I am using both the 2021 and 2020 versions for Windows 10. I have them on two different PCs. I purchased the digital downloads on Amazon. $107 each for perpetual license. I have had the 2020 version installed now for several years and no problems whatsoever. It looks like they now offer the 2024 version for the same price. Any of these would work well for creating drawings for plasma cutting. If you don't want to spend any money, you can download Inkscape for free and it does essentially the same thing. I use both CorelDraw and Inkscape for my projects.NB Forrest wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2024 3:22 pm I want to use Corel Draw but I don't want to spend more than I need to. Re: What version of Corel Draw
By the way, I originally purchased CorelDraw based on a recommendation from Julie who was using an older version for tracing with the B-Spline Tool. I later discovered that the newer versions of Inkscape (I am using Inkscape 1.2.2) have a similar B-Spline tool under the options for the Bezier draw tool.

Here is a manual trace that I did last year to make some Christmas gifts for family members. I used CorelDraw 2020, but could have just as easily used Inkscape to achieve a similar result.
