Tom - I couldn't see in his video where he was using a layering technique. Perhaps he is mounting these on the wall or ?? It's hard to tell until we can see the finished project.

OK - I see it now. Very little overlap, but a small border around the letters. And I just looked at again and now see the backer. I need to pay closer attention - that video went by so fast that I missed some of those. That's one reason that I prefer photos over videos for many things.
