I have 4'x8' sheets of .250 HR plate.
I want to cut as many 4"x4" sq plates as i can on the piece. I think i can do an array or 10x20 for 200 pieces safely, without running out of material, correct me if im wrong.
My main concern is 200 pierces and 3200" of cut in one setting.
Am i expecting to much out of my 102i plasma, if so what would be a safe amount to cut, then restart after letting the machine rest

you can do a shared cut edge and save a bunch of cutting

I use sheet cam, just overlay the lines while adding parts.
I never cut this many identical parts at once

I agree with Cutnweld. Just do long horizontal and vertical cuts across the entire sheet and slice it up. Adjust your 4" x 4" drawing size to compensate for the kerf width of the shared edges.

In addition to what these guys are saying your 102i will have no trouble cutting all of that in 1 go. I don't expect you will be running the amps wide open, I would go with 65 amps or so with the appropriate nozzle and it should have no issue at all, you will be barely working it.

Thank you all for the quick responses and shared knowledge. I have been wasting a lot of material, trying to learn proper nesting

You might also consider mounting a sharpie pen holder to your torch and drawing instead of cutting for your testing.

To what the others have posted, keep in mind your slat layout when laying out the cut order. Slat design (flat or sharks tooth) is a key factor also.
