Ohmic Sensing with Relay Modules

Post by wonder1 »

Looking for some feedback on this wiring diagram for Ohmic sensing using 2 opto-isolated relay modules. I'm using a Mesa 7i96s and a Hypertherm PowerMax 1000 plasma cutter. I based the drawing mostly from the CNC Plasma primer on the Linux CNC website, but redrew it to match the relays I am using. It is working as it should, but wanted to get a second look before I started cutting with it.

I have been using a similar circuit with LinuxCNC and other electronics, and it works great. I am using a 7I76E card but I'm sure yours will work the same. They make those modules in different voltages I used 12 volts on mine.
