Agreed..

Looks like a 2K discount for early / launch add the back gauges and other options for another $1,800 and you have a machine that could pay out in just a few production runs.

Like a plasma table a press brake is an essential time saver / money maker in a fab shop.. :Yay

Thanks for posting this!! I will have a look - seems very interesting. Right now I do it manually on my budget press brake.

I looked over their website description. I couldn't find any information on exactly what tooling/dies are included. Maybe I just missed it. That is something I would want to know before considering a purchase. It also says they are accepting deposits for pre-orders. So apparently none sold and out in the field yet. It would be nice to see more demo videos and some reviews before ordering.

Good points posted by all and if you read their forum a lot of people who paid a deposit are wondering where the machines are in production / shipping stage. The description says it accepts American tooling but it does not say it is provided nor how much / what is available yet. The launch discount is enticing but a phone call with clarifications is in order before showing them the money. My recommendation is a 4 way die and sectional goose neck punches to start with.

Looks nice, yet I wonder how practical it would be for the average fabricator. I have never bent anything over 10 ft, but would not want any less than my 175 ton capacity, 25 ton would leave little room to grow, tho it is a cute machine.

The first thing that turned me OFF was the ball screws used to apply pressure. That cannot possibly bend what a hydraulic iron worker can bend. and the ball screws under pressure WILL develop slop over time.

Yes, the price is attractive, and if you make little metal boxes all day, I suppose there is a place for this in your shop. It is not something I would add to my shop.

I thought this was a hydraulic unit, but I bear correction. On ball screws tho, servo ball screw brakes have been around for a long time and seem to be gaining ground, ball screws can take a lot of force, and it is true that they may develop slop, however is that not what the linear encoder is there for? The ram will position itself based on the ram mounted encoder rather than the ball screw rotation. I agree Joe, that a fellow would need some production runs of small parts to make this work. Based on the price, I tend to think it comes directly from C hina

Yeah this is a thin metal bender only, the advantage to this is the shorter smaller dies are easier / quicker to change out, When I built my 100T I did a 3 bay version to allow quick change out of the tooling for shorter parts and be set up for 3 different hits without having to change tooling.

My 6x12 water pan required a trip to the shop with a 20' 500T brake, yowza that sucker was big :Wow :Wow The morale of the story is no machine is perfect so have a big shop and own a lot of them. :HaHa :HaHa

For those interested in bending save this chart and study it. It tells you about everything you need to know on getting bent into shape:

Every big fab shop wishes they had a small version of their big machine for the small parts.
There is a right tool for every job, this item might be practical for some...
Punches and dies cost more than that unit if you are buying Wila style stuff LOL..

I am wondering if it is the GILLETTE scenario, where they sell you the PRESS at a low price, and bend you over for the assorted dies you will need to make it useful. Free RAZOR, but the BLADES will bankrupt you!

Possibly, but small die sections can be picked up for cheap on ebay etc.

The link says their tooling is going to be cheaper than most, it also says the motors are for synchronizing the 3.000 psi rams.

What are thoughts on making your own laminated dies?

similar to this?

Do some searching on the forum and you will find those cutting files. They will work great for a hobby user if your in the 2 shifts a day mode then they would probably start to wear and give you irregular bends...

For my "hobby" press brake I use the Swag Offroad dies that look like this.
