Pricing check

Post by X53Gunner »

I know not a popular question but I'm new and still trying to figure out my pricing. I have a possible return account that I could really use at this time. I have been requested to cut 20 licence plates and 20 police badges out of 14ga. Thanks for your help and guidance.

Is there prep work involved or just cut them and hand them
over?

I created a pricing calculator that might help you. Here is the link to download it from Google Drive.

You can make any changes you require.

Are they going to be blank plates and badges, as shown? Or are you going to customize them in some way?

I think this is a very popular question that some people are afraid to ask and answer, but I hope to see more answers.

If you are giving them to the customer just like that, I would charge $18.00 for the big one and $5.00 for the small one. More if you have to drill the holes.

Sometimes it is better to let the pros handle it. You can have these LASER CUT from 14 gauge mild steel and delivered to your door much easier, faster, and for less effort than cutting them yourself.

I did not price the badges, but I will assume a similar savings.

Let SEND CUT SEND make them for you, and mark them up $5.00 each for the trouble of KNOWING where to get them

DO NOT have them shipped to your client, or they will know who made them and they will never call you again.

They will make the badges for you, for $1.97 each

Give the order to SEND CUT SEND and put $200.00 in your pocket JUST for being smarter than your client! :HaHa

The problem is that at those prices, the customer WILL go searching for an alternative, and they WILL eventually FIND a company like SendCutSend, and then you will NEVER be able to sell another piece of metal again.

CNC Fiber Lasers will soon KILL plasma tables.

After hours of frustration, the man called the refrigerator repairman.

The technician arrived in dirty jeans, a fishing cap and a stained T-shirt.

"I've spent HOURS trying to get this thing working again, and I just can't do it!" the customer complained.

The technician looked at the refrigerator, ran his hand up and down one edge, and then gave the fridge a hard kick. The fridge began working perfectly.

"The fridge won't give you any more trouble. That will be $150.00 sir."

The customer exploded! "$150.00!! Are you kidding me?! you didn't DO anything! All you did was KICK IT! I want an itemized bill!"

"Sir, I charge $50.00 for an itemized bill. That will bring the bill to $200.00. Do you still want one?" the technician politely asked.

"YES, damn it! I want an itemized bill!!"

The technician took out a piece of paper from his pocket and wrote out the bill:

1. Kicking the Refrigerator - $10.00
2. Knowing EXACTLY WHERE to kick the refrigerator - $70.00
3. Knowing EXACTLY HOW HARD to kick the refrigerator - $70.00
4. Itemized Invoice - $50.00

Total - $200.00 - Education is Expensive.

If you buy 100 at $6.69 each and sell them to the client for $18.00 each, you only have to sell 38 of them to break even. You sell 20 units at $18.00 each, and tell them there are more where they came from. Sell 18 more to break even. Then every one after that is 100% profit, and you still have 62 units left to sell! Give the client a break! Sell them as "Three-Packs" at $45.00 per 3 units. Sell 20 three-packs for $900.00, and hang the last two on your garage wall

Honestly, for little stuff like this, I won't even fire up my cnc plasma table. It is so easy to send the file to SENDCUTSEND and have the product arrive at my door a few days later.

Yep, each. I charge by the square inch and that’s my pricing. I recently sold a bunch of license plate frames very similar to this size but with the centers cut out for close to the same price to a bunch of classic car owners,
I will check out send cut send though, thanks!
