Model "A" Sedan
This one is a 1929 Model A that a friend's wifeasked me to do for her husband! Roy finally got it from his Dad who last restored it around 1972 it sat in the shed for the last 30+ years and now is finally back on the road! All he had to do was replace a leaking head gasket and water pump, and replace the "original" bias ply tires! His Dad quit driving it because it didn't handle well! The last set of tires were put on in '48, theyv'e improved tires a lot since then!
The pic I used was one Roy took in front of Bell Ford, Arlington, Wi the week after he got it on the road!

Re: Model "A" Sedan
Its a great job but being a model a snob myself, the trademark centre dip in the grille has been taken out and replaced with a straight line. Only something a car guy would notice though and it sure is better than I could do.

Re: Model "A" Sedan
I originally had it there but the grill didn't look even (looked more like a parallelogram) and when I changed it I forgot to put the dip back! I didn't even notice!
I always a "Chevy man"
She hasn't picked it up yet so I'll have to see how long it takes her husband to notice!

Oh crikey, hope I didn't open up a tin of worms. For some reason it's always the first place I look when looking at them.

This one was a manual trace with "DesignEdge" PlasmaCam software!Splinters&Sparx wrote: βFri Oct 06, 2023 11:10 am

I have been learning Inkscape over the last few years, but I've been learning DesignEdge since I purchased my DHC2 table!

Do you agree that DesignEdge makes the process dirt simple? Creating files like this one above are child's play when using DesignEdge software.

Is DesignEdge available for purchase without the PlasmaCam table? I am not finding a download for itJ-SIG wrote: βWed Oct 11, 2023 1:38 pmThis one was a manual trace with "DesignEdge" PlasmaCam software!Splinters&Sparx wrote: βFri Oct 06, 2023 11:10 am

Yes it is nice! I think it was a little better to learn than Inkscape has been! Of course it helped to watch some of the tutorials supplied by all the great people sharing thier help on here and YT including you Joe!
Thanks!

Re: Model "A" Sedan
It is not a "buy and download" software. You contact PlasmaCam and purchase a license to use DesignEdge. After you register with them, you will be able to download it from the Owners Community Forum, a private forum only accessible by people who have purchased a table, or a GoTorch, or a DesignEdge license. You do not OWN the software. You only purchase the right to USE the software.Splinters&Sparx wrote: βThu Oct 12, 2023 9:54 am

Re: Model "A" Sedan
Once you learn the keyboard shortcuts and the feel of the software, and how to move around inside of DesignEdge, it is actually FUN to use to create drawings, art files and more. I guess I am spoiled. I have used Google SketchUp, AutoCAD, and so many others. But DesignEdge just makes it literal child's play to create anything you need.
