I began to build them. With a cnc plasma table, it was so easy!

I would buy the welded lattice steel frames from the big box stores, and combine them together with some metal support plates for pots, etc.

I made two 12 pot stands and sold them almost immediately. I cannot seem to find a photo of it though. This one was a test. Two shorter lattice frames at a 90 degree angle with a plate to hold a plastic or clay pot. The heart at the front was for both DESIGN and to act as a front leg to prevent it from tipping over. It was originally black, but a coat of primer and some bright yellow Rustoleum paint sold it!

I got $160 for the little one with two plastic pots included, and I sold TWO of the large ones with 24 colored plastic pots to the wife of a good friend for only $90 each because he drove here from Texas with she and her son, and bought about $3K worth of stuff from me, but she told me she would have paid at least twice that amount or more.

I think the nurseries would sell them well. I may produce a few more and take them to a local nursery to see if they sell.

They were easy to make, because the "fancy lattice work" was already done! Probably in CHINA. I just drew some shelves to fit, cut them on my plasma table, tack welded them to the store bought lattice, and primed and spray painted the welds black satin finish again. Easy Peasy!

Sometimes you don't need to reinvent the wheel. You just need to give it a coat of paint.

I really like this design. Some rebar, some leaves, several tack welds and a can of green spray paint, and viola!

It is black paint under yellow paint, so as it begins to chip and peel, it will only look MORE awesome.

Only thing was, and I've been wanting to get this fixed, was the butterfly antenna on that dxf ... my machine cut them off because they were too thin. Maybe not a hard fix for someone good with cad, I'm decent at drawing but still learning.

Thats pretty neat....have you made any of them? Curious on material thickness. Im thinking fairly stout or maybe move the butterflies closer together so they touch to act as a brace? Maybe thats overkill?

I cut mine out of 1/8 carbon plate, so it'll be strong enough to hang things from, also easier for welding.

Yes...I'm actually changing a few design aspects of it though. Had some concerns about the chimney being one piece with 3 bends. I think I'd be better off having it 2 pieces with one bend in the middle of each for ease of assembly.. I was experimenting with trying to "cut" the part in half with limited success. I'm not sure if there's a quick and easy way to be sure everything stays square..?
