This may not be plasmacam specific, but I'm hoping someone can point me in the correct direction. I'm using a Hypertherm Powermax 1000 with 40a fine cut consumables. While cutting aluminum (all I've really cut so far) I am sometimes getting slag blowing back and accumulating between the cup and machine shield. It is occasionally bad enough to catch on the work and drag it and screw up a run. Do any of you know where I should start with troubleshooting?
Thank you!

Auto calibrate your height often if you have advanced height control. I use a little nozzle spray on the shield and nozzle, let dry and assemble. That seems to help too.

I've auto calibrated it several times. I haven't tried the spatter spray yet. I have some somewhere, I'll find it and give it a shot. Thank you

Here is some discussion from Jim Colt about ceramic anti spatter coating.
