Spark Control - Fire Prevention

Post by topkote »

Hi Folks,

I am setting up my 4 X 8 table with a water table. Wondering what most use for spark control and fire safety. Welding blankets, curtains, shields?

Thanks,

Mike

I’ve seen a lot of tables with a cup or cone shaped piece that sits on the torch. Other than that the water table will do it’s job after piercing.

If you need a hot work area type of arrangement, I would use weld curtains around your cutting area. Do you have your table in an area with combustibles nearby?

No combustables nearby but it is a wooden building.

I use welding curtains to contain the sparks and cover open areas of the cutting deck to aid my downdraft fan in creating decent vacuum under the cutting deck :Like
