There is 24v going into the myplasm cnc interface board.

Re: Wright CNC THC
I’m sorry for my ignorance but how do I hook that up like you say. Would it be from pins 5,7 on the voltage divider card then just straight to the work lead connection and torch? By doing that will the computer be able to read the voltage and move the torch up/down? I don’t understand how if I bypass the cnc interface then the computer won’t get any reading at all.john78 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 5:16 pm Sounds like there is something wrong with the CNC interface board or its wired wrong.
Found this. https://plasmaspider.com/viewtopic.php?f=111&t=23700 Might be related.
Can you check the raw voltage going into the CNC interface board?
Did a quick search and found all kinds of people with issues with that cnc interface board. From what I have read best to hookup raw arc voltage directly to the torch and work lead connection and bypass the cnc interface for the voltage.

Re: Wright CNC THC
What I mean is take the input that is going to the CNC interface board and connect it to the wires that go to pins 5 & 7. From what I have read the red and black wires on the other connector are the raw arc voltage input to the CNC interface board. Torch is negative. Work is positive. If you have a volt meter you can verify this by doing a resistance check from the wires to the work and torch power leads. Cut the wires that go to pin 5 & 7. Cut the red and black wires on the other connector. Connect red wire to the wire that was on pin 5. Connect black wire to the wire that was on pin 7.
Hope this makes sense.

What is shown between the arrows during the cut. Red dot means THC off.
Adjust the green point up or down.

There is a green dot during the cut. At the start and end of cut it goes to red for a split second. Sorry I don’t know how to upload a video.East German wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 7:08 am What is shown between the arrows during the cut. Red dot means THC off.

Re: Wright CNC THC
Alright so everything is hooked up to raw voltage 100%. I skipped the voltage divider card. The torch and material clamp is plugged directly into my Proma THC Module. Yet, THC still isn’t working. I am getting good voltage readings on my computer screen. I am lead to believe that I don’t have my setting right in the computer. Does anyone know what the settings are supposed to be set at in the below picture?

Re: Wright CNC THC
Well, if you now have good voltage reading in the software then there maybe a software issue. Post pictures of all your settings. I agree with East German. The max transfer height should be set a lot higher than what you are cutting at. Also take a video if possible of the screen and what the torch is doing. If you have a google account you can upload the video to google drive and post the URL link. What thickness of metal are you performing the test cuts on?

Re: Wright CNC THC
Here are some photos of my setting pages and a link to some test cuts. The video of the screen is showing the green dots between a the up/down arrows. The torch video is doing a test cut in a 20 inch long line on 20 gauge steel/.035 in thickness. There is a considerable amount of warp to the sheet so the torch starts high and continues to move to the right and stays at the same level at which it started the cut. It ends up being about an inch or so off the material. The sheet has a gradual down slope from the beginning of the cut to the end of the cut.john78 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 12:45 pm Well, if you now have good voltage reading in the software then there maybe a software issue. Re: Wright CNC THC
It looks like the voltage is changing. Green dots I think are the command up or down when cutting. I would try it on some thicker material. Try lowering the cut voltage. See if the torch reacts. The lower the voltage the closer to the material the torch should be. And if you haven't already changed the height of transfer max to 0.2 or 0.3. I think this setting is for high frequency start. Your plasma is blow back type. So the torch will go to 0.07 first and try to fire. Then to pierce height. Then to cut height. If it don't work from there I would uninstall and reinstall all software and drivers.

Re: Wright CNC THC
Have you changed Height of transfer!?
I see 0,07!?
The THC can only move the Z axis 1.7 mm, which is not enough.
Why don't you change that?

I changed it to 2.0 shortly after that photo was taken. Sorry I should have changed that prior to the photo. I also tried cuts on 1/8 inch plate. I’ve lowered the voltage and the torch still cuts way to high off the material.

Is the starting altitude correct? Does the probing work?

The probing (ohmic sensing) works fine. The starting altitude is higher than what the machine is set at.

Re: Wright CNC THC
Hi
I know nothing about your machine and settings available
But
Have you checked what unit of measure you are using in all the different areas
THC, Sheetcam, controller etc
Looking through some of your pages I can't tell what you are using mm here and inches there???
Only a suggestion to check out to make sure they are all speaking the same measurement unit???

Re: Wright CNC THC
Well it looks like the software was the issue. I un-installed it and downloaded the software from the myplasm website. Installed the new download and then the firmware had to update. After that the THC seems to work. Now I just need to dial in my settings. Thanks everybody for helping me out with my problem. I couldn’t have figured it out with out you all.john78 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 8:26 pm It looks like the voltage is changing. Green dots I think are the command up or down when cutting.
