Black Firday 2020

Post by nick7251 »

Does anybody have a bead on a good black Friday sale for 2020. I've searched extensively and can't find anything. I'd like to get a Powermax 45xp with machine torch. Best price I can find is from Bakers Gas for $2,270 and 50% off a consumable kit for $124 bringing the total to $2,394.

The Powermax 45XP is already discounted by nearly $400 at Baker’s Gas and Welding, but throughout Black Friday and Cyber Monday, you’ll find an additional $120 off if you use the promo code: 45XP120 at checkout.

Here’s a place I’ve recently run across. Online store of a Minnesota welding company that has numerous locations. I just ran across them so no experience, I’d be interested in anyone’s experience with them as well. Finding hypertherm on there isn’t obvious but they list a lot of different configurations for a particular model. Go to Welding supplies/ Plasma/Cutting machines. This link has a fully loaded machine but nothing mentioned about consumables other than a starter set.
PS They offer 10% off first order if you sign up for their newsletter.

I prefer to buy the consumables as separate items, I have bought a few Hypertherm PM65s and the kits that come with the unit did not have the nozzles I use most in the kit. It was only geared to the 65 amp side, no 45 amp and no fine cut either, and a standard adapter not the ohmic contact one. I bought from Baker Gas. Look at the models they sell as some come with a remote switch which is good if you hooking up to a CNC controller. Also if you can afford it buy the model with both torches as you save over buying later. I think the cost of the emote switch adds about $125. I have the pat number for the plug that goes in the back for CNC connections, electronics stores sell the plug parts add the wire and save.

I think that is an old advertisement (from previous years).

FYI - https://bakersgas.com/pages/bakers-2020-bfcm-deals
Hypertherm deals don't appear to be that good this year.

I bought my 85 from Bakergas this year and I had an old Harbor Freight 45amp plasma sitting around so I did their "trade in" program and got an extra $500 off my purchase. You just send them pictures of the cutter and serial number then make your purchase. A few weeks later they'll refund the money back to your card when Hypertherm sends them the incentive. If you've already got a plasma, it'll take a chunk out of the purchase price.

Did you have to send your old HF cutter back to them? If so, did they send you a prepaid shipping label?

It sounds like they just keep track of the serial number so you can only get one rebate per old cutter.

The deal says something along the lines of "ship your plasma cutter to be destroyed or used for parts" but I didn't have to send mine. YMMV
