It sounds like you need a systematic approach to diagnosing the difficulties with your machine.

We are not going to give up
I am setting up a camera so Gregg can watch from inside the house once we get it working again.
Just so you know the plasmacam Australian Office have been no help because I think we are still using the old program.
Tech support is none resistant

I'm not sure how much of the Video Manual applies to 3.11, but you might want to consider taking a look at it. If you don't have one, the cost is $10 and the shipping shouldn't be too much. You would look at Chapter 8, Servicing the Machine, Troubleshooting section. It will walk you thru attempting to diagnose your problems.

Re: Plasmacam cable from control unit to the plasma cutter
Good Day,
I recently purchased a Primeweld PT60 cutter (new) and a Plasmacam table (used). I'm trying to get it all set up and working and need some info. The machine came with the machine control/monitoring cable from new in the box from plasma cam. The torch connection cable was apparently supposed to come with a video that outlined installation but wasn't present and plasma cam won't send me a video until ownership has officially been transferred.
I found the first part of the video online and got the cable installed on the machine but the video ends with something like "it is very important that you test the cable to make sure that it's wired properly before attaching to your controller to avoid damage to the controller and cutter. Testing procedure is covered in part 2". There is no part 2 online.
Does anyone know how I'm supposed to test the cable? I found what I figure is a male 5 pin test plug and have done continuity testing to determine which wires in the plug go to which wires that are attached to the machine and if I connect the two switch wires together my torch fires but If I disconnect them it doesn't so I'm figuring that part is correct. I attached a volt meter to the wires that come from the cutter and ground clamp and am seeing dc voltage on those when I cut.
I've called Plasmacam and ever though I've submitted the transfer of ownership paperwork they won't talk to me about anything until it has been processed.

Yes even in Australia they are very none responsive with issues Even if you are a registered user.
Also if you have the original 3.11 program they do not want to know.

Glad to see your ok.
We had to stop using the plasmacam because my mate had a Pace Maker fitted to his heart and is not allowed to go near or use any welders etc.
Happy New Year

Thank you all for your input! I’ll be able to check it all out the cutter on Sunday. This is really a huge help.

No - you can't use HDMI adapter. You will need real parallel port, or a docking station with parallel port for your laptop.clarkalan11 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 3:41 pm Does anyone know of a cable yet IEEE-1284 parallel port cable to HDMI adpter yet? lap tops dont come with a parallel port anymore ?

Re: Plasmacam cable from control unit to the plasma cutter
Does anyone have a schematic laying out pin wiring in the controller on the Plasma Cam? I have a cable that will plug into the torch (Hyperthermia) but doesn’t fit the torch.
Help please. Thanks

Re: Plasmacam cable from control unit to the plasma cutter
Which Hypertherm plasma cutter do you have? And what cable do you have - make/model? If you are using a machine torch (and assuming you are using of the newer Hypertherm cutters - 45xp, 65, 85, 105, etc.) then you will need to have the CPC port installed on the plasma cutter and the appropriate torch control cable available from several sources. If you are using a hand torch on your Plasmacam table then you can purchase the required torch control cable directly from Plasmacam - assuming you are the legal owner of the table. The torch control cable for the hand torch does not plug into the plasma cutter, and requires opening up the plasma cutter to splice into the torch trigger wire and to connect to the terminals to allow monitoring of the arc voltage for digital torch height control.
Here is the torch control cable needed for machine torch with cpc port.

Here is the torch control cable required for hand torch (cpc port not required).

Re: Plasmacam cable from control unit to the plasma cutter
You are welcome! Happy to try to help. You never did tell us what plasma cutter you have, but hopefully you will get your table/cutter sorted out.
