Table extension to 4x8 cutting?

Post by crossfab »

Just pulled the trigger on more rails to extend the table. Probably will do away with the factory grate system and add a water table. I am curious if there are any negative effects by doing this. I know how benificial it will be and would like input on those who have modified theirs. I have all the tools to do a clean job, so the work im not afraid of, just the mechanical and software issues. I guess you just choose the 4x8 table on the settings? Also curious about a better torch mounting ideas. I have the dhc, and hypertherm 65. Thanks to all

Probably cost eight hundred for all. Doesn't take long to do. My next project is to skin it with aluminum and hook up the exaust.

Are you using a pivot for the electrical mast to get the full capacity? i would like more indepth details if i could get them. i am wanting to turn my 4x4 into a 4x10. did you just purchase the upper rails for the gantry drive from plasma cam? Any information would be helpful

Yes. New rails and one gear track cut down will allow a 9' 5" table. Don't cut the rails just but the up. The pivot I used a .75 shaft and 1" tubing with uhmw for a friction plate. I used new 3x3 angle so I would not have to cut down on seams. Rustileum sail blue paint is the perfect match in color. I'll post how I seammed the grates.

What did you have to change in the program to recognize the new table size?
