CandCNC rev-02 card install PM 85

Post by 14u2cnc »

Does anyone have a step by step guide, with pics hopefully, of how to install and where to put CandCNC voltage divider card in my Hypertherm PM85.

My voltage divider no work and it was suggested to install one of the Rev-02 CandCNC cards as it was cheaper than buying the whole new circuit board.

My unit is currently configured with round plug that comes out of back of plasma unit and I would like to utilize that as it is now. I am confused as to the existing voltage card by hypertherm in unit. What happens to it for this install?

Thank u in advance for anyone than can help...

I would assume that you have to access the raw volts inside the unit. If the Hypertherm divider is bad, you won't have arc volt readings at the cpc connector.
The Hypertherm divider board should be replaceable on the 85. I think it's part #223036. That's for the kit. Not sure if the board is available separately.

Because of the lack of support installing a Rav-02 card in my PM85 I have decided to get a new hypertherm board. You all have a great day.

90 % of the time its not the secondary divider card. There is a primary divider on the main board and it has a small SMT filter cap that shorts and kills the primary signal . We just pulled and replaced one on our old 65 this week. The connection of a RAV02 is not complex. You find the connection points as covered in the DTHC Manual (Hypertherm connection section) and connect two wire. There is an excerpt from the Hyperthem Raw arc voltage connection filed manual taht shows the two connection points.

You open the PWM (or turn it over) and set the jumper to the 7:1 position. You plug the stereo cable into the jack on the RAV-02 and the other end into the jack on the PWM module. You continue to use the CPC cable to fire the torch and and get ARC OK. ......Done.
