Layered 3d sign. Thanks Ben de Lappe for the conversion! Great work again! (Not sure why the one pic turned 90?)

Plus you got to see your hand in this project. Wish more would do that, show the final project they received help from this site.

Said a mouthful there lockeyone. I've helped my share here that didn't have it in 'em to say thanks...not why I do it though.
Dave and I go way back, truthfully he could have done the cad work but busy as he is it only makes sense for him to farm out the grubby part. :HaHa Which fortunately I love.
And yes, thanks Dave for putting up the results...again, stellar.

Great job!
A couple things...

1. How did you hang the smaller pieces? Got a pic of how they're mounted?
2. The colors look awesome! Did you paint that? Is it all vinyl graphics? Use some sort of magic?

Thank you! Yes, Magic!
Here are a couple pics of hangers I use sometimes, like on this project. I got the idea from this site, just added some 3/16" rod on them for standoffs. I put them behind the art, then use a mini offset ratcheting screwdriver to tighten them. I don't know why the pics post at 90 degrees. Not like that on my phone. In the first pic, that is just a shadow coming off of the one side.

For the painting, I bought some water based airbrush paint, it was going to be my first airbrush job because I thought it would be the smoothest way to get the colors to blend to the next. I wasn't having much luck, the paint was drying in the nozzle and there was just too much area to cover. I switched up to my mini spray gun, with the same paint and it went really well. I put a clear coat on top of all of it when done. Pics attached of the paint brand and mini spray gun. I use this same gun whenever I am doing dyes (My dyes not shown, come from Steel F/X OF COURSE!). The 'we proudly use' piece is vinyl over steel. Everything else was white or black powder coat that I painted over.

Thanks for the info. I'm stealing your standoff mount design. 😊

I like that standoff design too. How long do you make the 3/16 rod typically? 3 inches or so?

Stand off length varies by what I'm doing. Usually just enough to get the driver in behind the piece. They work great on these trees that I do also, helps hold the branches in the position I want them.
