Navy Seal Boat Team 12
Kind of proud of this one. 36" diameter multi piece multi layer candy finish (25+ pieces). Presented at Coronado Island Navy Training Facility. A scheduled 15 minute photo op session turned into over an hour as other Seal Teams posed with the piece. It was then put on high speed boat and taken to Virginia Beach to show to another Seal Team, then to Mississippi to show to another. Finally returned back and displayed permanently on Coronado Island. Took me quit a while to complete and several design challenges but it was a success.

Awesome work! How did you do the lines in the rope around the edge?

Thanks. Its the marking feature on the Hypertherm 45 XP. Its a long process with the PlasmaCam due to their software lock downs. Have to wait till the torch stops blowing after each mark before you can start the next, otherwise the torch moves before it fires. Its like $1000 to upgrade so it does not do that. I actually upgraded to the XP just for that feature to do the rope on this piece.Scratch wrote:Awesome work! How did you do the lines in the rope around the edge?

Do you not have any height control at all? The wait for cutting signal before moving should take care of that?rickjamesbish wrote:Thanks. Its the marking feature on the Hypertherm 45 XP. Re: Navy Seal Boat Team 12
On a sign this size I weld a threaded collar or nut to the backside of the piece and bolt on from the back. On smaller pieces I use super magnets. All pieces are removable so they can be replaced if accidentally damaged.blackandtan wrote:That is very nice. How did you attach the layers.

Re: Navy Seal Boat Team 12
I have read about other people using magnets, I guess I need to try it.
