Font Question

Post by Jfile »

Does anyone know if there is a font out there that is just a single line font? In other words, it would be cut just like it looks in this post as opposed to being converted to a path and cut out as a stencil type letter. Not sure if that makes sense. I supposed I could use the drawing tools in Inkscape and physically draw the numbers but besides taking a lot of time, I doubt I could get the consistency that would be necessary for them to look good. Basically, I just want to put a the year "2018" at the bottom of a piece and have the torch make one pass for each number. However, any time I put numbers in my drawing, they don't carry over to Sheetcam until I convert them to a path and then they have that block letter look.

Years ago I used a set of fonts called CamBam stick fonts. Several places on the web have them. Here's a link to the first place I found when searching.

Thanks everyone. I'll check out the CamBam stick fonts.

Also, great point harrymorley. That could definitely be a problem. I just wanted the piece dated but didn't want to draw a lot of attention to the date. That's why I was going to just use the single line cut. May end up just leaving it off though. I didn't even think about the drop outs.
