I upgraded to a Hyperthem Max100 last year, from an Esab LPH80 and TD SL100 machine torch. What a fantastic piece of equipment.
My main problem I have is using un-shielded nozzles on 40A. I am getting about 150 pierces on a nozzle.
I managed to source some 40A shielded nozzles, but have no indication of cutting speed, torch height etc. ( not listed in Manual )
Has anyone else had experience of 40A shielded nozzles on the Max100 ?

William

Re: HT MAX100 40A Shielded nozzle settings.
When the Max100 was in production (30 years ago) there were only non-shielded 40 amp consumables (the 100 amp were shielded), so there are no factory cut charts for 40 amp shielded cutting. I'd suggest using the 40 amp non shielded cut specs from the Max100 operators manual (downloadable at the www.hypertherm.com site under "Document Library") as a starting point and adjust height and speed for best results. Re: HT MAX100 40A Shielded nozzle settings.
Thanks Jim,
Works great on 40A un-shielded "book specs".
I'll just have to get some more stock of nozzles in.
Even though its an old machine, It works really well.
Attached image is the latest part I cut at 25mm.
Thanks again for the help, very much appreciated.
