Ryan PT-22 Plane

Post by bafortin »

The gentleman who owns the plane in the picture, as well as the pilot has asked me to do a cutout of his plane so he can put it on the gate at his property. I have tried to get it to load up and convert to a DXF on my plasmacam table as well as tried to convert it in inkscape. I am having no luck. I have attached a jpeg of the plane. Can someone on this site convert the plane to a DXF for me? I am willing to pay for it. Thanks.

I think the file I too large. I am working on trying to optimize the picture. I will try to download it if I can get it optimized. Thanks

I'm sure someone will help you when you get it loaded. The PT-22 was a good old trainer.

Load your picture into PAINT and use the RESIZE to make the PG smaller. :D

Ok, I was finally able to figure out how to resize the picture so I can add the file in the thread. Below is a picture of the plane that I need help converting to a DXF. As I said above, I am willing to pay someone to convert it to a DXF. Thanks.

This came together nicely.

Can someone explain how to make the image of the file come up on the screen as well? Thought "place inline" would work but it doesn't seem to. Either way, hope this file is what you were looking for.

I just take a screenshot of the dxf when onscreen using the windows inbuilt “snipping” tool.

No problem. And btw, use this file if you haven't already cut this. I bridged a few extra things to make it more solid. Forgot to repost it the other day. The first one should be fine but better safe than sorry. Enjoy.

Sorry it took me so long to download a picture of the finished product, but here it is. Since the pilot was putting it on a gate, I had to fill in the wings for stability and strength. I think it turned out excellent, and so did he. I did have to do another one since I forgot to fix the 0. Thanks.
