Completed this a while back using an anchor image from here as the base to start with. This is two layer, 5 piece, painted candy Gold and Blue and finished with 2k Clear. Held together by Super Magnets. This was presented at his retirement and went over quite well. Hopefully someone will be able to convert this to DXF in case anyone needs it. I ran into no issues in Design Edge but it seems that converting to DXF results in some anomalies.

How do the magnets work. Do you orientate the pieces then apply the magnets on the back to hold together?

They work great. I just throw them on strategically. Like on this one I placed them on back of the ring with lettering and the USN and then assemble. No glue or anything like that however I have used JB Weld on one side of some larger pieces so magnets stay in place on one piece. Hold piece and give it a bump to make sure it holds. Add more as needed. I use this on most all layered pieces so client can take apart for dusting, shipping , storage, etc. No complaints so far.

Amazon. Not that expensive considering the time it saves. I have not shopped around so likely can get better deal.

Yeah someone else converted a flag I did and weird stuff happened. Maybe I should post it without the design edge cut paths.

This is prior to converting to cut paths so it should show up as just single set of lines with no lead ins unless the software your using automatically converts it to a cut path.

Looks like James converted it to DXF with the cut lines for a Plasmacam applied.

Don't recall and will need to look when I get home. I had to break apart fonts as needed to prevent fall outs. It as not a ready cut font.
