limit switch wiring

Post by leggman »

I have been changing breakout boards trying to get the plasma trigger to work and that has been accomplished. But now I cannot get the limit switches to show up in mach3. This is the board I am using
http://www.ebay.com/itm/US-Ship-5-Axis- ... Sw3ydVmzqq
The wiring is all good like before but try as I might I cannot get the leds to light up in the diagnostics page.
I hope someone can help, This is my last hurdle before I start making cuts.
Thanks

Looking at the board diagram, it looks like you should be able to short directly from Gnd on the bottom left of the board to 1 of the 5 inputs above it, which should light a led in Mach3. If not, then you need to look at the setup in Mach3. Perhaps the ports and pins are not setup correctly in Mach3.

I have 5 volts coming into the board. Do I also need a 12-24 volts coming into it??????
In the specs it says
Input Voltage
USB port from PC and 12-24V power supply.
This has me wondering

I GOT IT
I hooked a cheap 12 volt power supply ( I think it came from a old phone or something) to the board and it works. For some reason it needed 12 volts to work the input switches??? Now everything works. Time to move on to whats next and that would be setting the torch height control with the touch off switch. It's always something.
