Looked to see if my CAD program either imports/exports .gm. Negative. Curious now, what is this file extension from?

I’m not sure what machine it came from. I got them from another high school ag teacher and was trying to convert so the students could use them.

Looks like it's a torchmate file.

Thanks for reminding me! There's a website- cloudconvert.com that will convert over 200 file types. Simply select the file extension for the file you'd like to convert then select the file type you want it converted to and hit convert. I had completely forgotten about this until your post. :HaHa Unfortunately cloudconvert doesn't know what a .gm file is either as I checked it out. Maybe this tip can be of help to someone.

Understood. It's entirely within the realm of possibilities it from a proprietary system that cannot be converted to .dxf or one must have that CAD in order to do so. Quickly looking about online I'm not seeing anything regarding .gm files relative to CNC. Now, if your friend has sent you video game music files I can now point you in the right direction. :HaHa Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I comes along soon.

Good job!

Funny how you posted this and I didn't see it, what timing. While I use Torchmate I have no experience with the new Accumove nor have I ever applied tool path in the manner described but from what I see here this must be saving the file as g code.

To the OP try bringing the .gm file straight into your driver software.

Looks like I posted as you were typing. I think I saw somewhere that you can open the .gm file in accumove and convert it back to the drawing. No idea if this actually works.
