Hi. I'm sure this question has been asked and I apologize in advance.
I bought a bunch of files and they are dxf. When I try to open them, they are nowhere to be found on my inkscape program. I can open them perfectly in qcad. I was wondering how I can open them in qcad and save as an svg or something that inkscape will "see"
I am "not" good with qcad as I am just starting out. I cant figure out how to size, move, save or anything from there to get it to my sheet cam program. So, I figured saving the files as something else would be easier.
Any suggestions would be amazing
I appreciate all of the help.
Chad

Re: Converting dxf to svg
I have done what you ask with a limited success rate. You will find some software will not play with other software, something about the file format. Here is something I just tried and it did work with some modifications in Inkscape. I opened a DXF in Qcad and then clicked on the SVG icon at the top and saved it. then opened it in Inkscape the size was correct but the stroke style was way off and needed to be changed. Also you can change the size in Inkscape if needed.
