CandCNC Post processor

Post by Masons Forge »

I just rebuilt a 5x10 table and I put all new CandCNC electronics on it. I have been using Mach3 with a plasma post with my old table without THC. CandCNC have their own post P but it is a .SCPOST file and it wont load into my post folder. Is there a fix other than buying a Sheetcam program?
Thanks Josh

What were you using for a CAM program before to create the gcode?
The CandCNC interface to SC is a lot more than just a post. If you have a Hypertherm, you get the tool files, you have rules you can apply (holes, sharp corners, off before end) If you have a Hypertherm with the RS485 interface and CandCNC's HY-T, you can control the air pressure, current, and get messages on screen. This allows you to have soft pierce (saves consumables) Peck Pierce, (soft marks for later drilling)
I think the $165 was a steal in the long run.

I have been using Bobcam to get my gcode. I have a Hypertherm 65 but it doesn't have the tap on the back other than the CNC port yet. I don't mind buying Sheetcam if that is the best way to go. Thanks for the answer sphurley

I have Bobcam also and before I pulled all my hair out I set it aside as it seemed overkill.
I added the RS485 option after the fact on my Hypertherm.

I am using BobCAD, CandCNC electronics. It took me a while but 24 years of software development experience helped me solve any issues I had. Using BobCADs VB Script interface I wrote my own post processor. It mimics all of the advanced features of sheetcam. (Except the off before end, honestly I did not know that's was a feature)

I have also added Ethernet wired relays which work with the CandCNC controller.

I have custom Mach Screens which make it all one seamless cohesive system.

I have to give you kudos. You have been able to accomplish what two different "developers" at BobCAD could not do. It was not from a lack of cooperation on our part. They were sent sample G-Code files, documents on the special codes and several phone calls , all to no avail. .

Hello

Is there anyway I can get a copy of that post for bobcad software?
